On 12 March, 2019, within the visit in New York, Khatuna Totladze, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia held a meeting with Hon. John Silk, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Marshall Islands.
Discussions focused on the current issues of bilateral and multilateral co-operation and prospects for further enhancement of relations between Georgia and the Marshal Islands.
The sides discussed the formats of cooperation in international organizations, with the special focus on mutual supports. Hon. John Silk specially focused on the priority issues for the Marshall Islands in the United Nations, including climate change, as well as conservation and sustainable use of the oceans and seas.
The Georgian side once more expressed its gratitude to the Government of the Marshall Islands for its unwavering support of Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
