Permanent Representative of Georgia David Bakradze, addressed the Informal Meeting of the General Assembly on the UN80 initiative. Permanent Representative welcomed the progress made on the initiative's three main workstreams and noted that this reform will help increase the accountability and transparency of the United Nations.

Permanent Representative emphasized the importance of adopting the resolution on "The Creation, Implementation, and Review of Mandates" and noted that when discussing the periodicity of resolutions, the context of each individual resolution requires careful analysis. 

Permanent Representative expressed support for the optimization of UN programmatic activities and noted the importance of eliminating duplication among UN funds and agencies. In this regard, David Bakradze highlighted the prioritization of digital transformation and modern management tools.

David Bakradze also welcomed the planned reform to strengthen the system of UN Resident Coordinators and Humanitarian Coordinators and emphasized that Georgia stands ready to make a constructive contribution to the UN reform process.
