On 1 Νovember 2024, Counsellor of the UN Division of the International Organisations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Tamar Grigolaia took part in the UNGA79 Third Committee Interactive dialogue with the UN Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Ms. Heba HAGRASS.

On 1 Νovember 2024, Counsellor of the UN Division of the International Organisations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Tamar Grigolaia took part in the UNGA79 Third Committee Interactive dialogue with the UN Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Ms. Heba HAGRASS.

The Georgian delegated expressed Georgia’s support to the mandate of Special Rapporteur and outlined national efforts towards advancing the rights of persons with disabilities.

The Georgian delegate stressed that regrettably, Russia’s illegal occupation of Georgia’s Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions is being felt even more painfully by vulnerable communities, including persons with disabilities on the ground, as they continue to bear a heavy burden of severe implications of ongoing human rights violations in both Russia-occupied regions of Georgia.
