He also highlighted the progress achieved by the Government of Georgia in protecting the rights of children and persons with disabilities and underscored the country’s effective, victim-centered approach to combating human trafficking.
The delegate of Georgia expressed deep concern about the grave human rights and humanitarian situation in Georgia’s Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions, currently under illegal Russian occupation.
The Georgian delegate, among other issues, also underscored the UN’s central role in protecting human rights. He highlighted the need to safeguard victims of armed conflict, promote equality between men and women, and address the risks posed by the misuse of digital technologies.
