On February 11, 2025, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations, David Abesadze delivered a national statement within the General Discussion of the 63rd Session of the UN Commission on Social Development (CSocD63).
In his statement, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Georgia briefed participants on Georgia’s steps at the national level, including advancement of the universal health coverage (UHC) and strengthening health financing, social programs and services in support of vulnerable families, promoting job creation, combating unemployment, and reducing social exclusion, promoting entrepreneurship, supporting businesses and economic growth.
The Deputy Permanent Representative underlined that ongoing illegal occupation of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions of Georgia by the Russian Federation represents the main obstacle for the Georgian Government for delivering its services beyond the occupation line where people living therein continue to face flagrant violations of their human rights.
